With the downturn in our economy and the staggering number of people looking for work, this book will show you how to get the perfect job for yourself using some unconventional methods. These methods are shown by example, in the form of various emails chains between me (the instigator) and recruiters (idiots). Warning Many of these advanced job-seeking techniques I help you employ are intended for the sophisticated reader. Consequently this book will use strong language such as ballbag, bitch, and ass-clown. In addition, adult concepts including Rusty Trombone and Dirty Sanchez have been used to help communicate and clarify ideas to the recruiter.

You gotta love Anthony's banter in his "Finalization" (re contract rate negotiation) chapter section in his email thread with the recruiter Ram (pgs 126-129) where he keeps increasing his required hourly rate (starting from $54 to eventually $62.50) in every reply back to Ram, that has nothing to do with the recruiter's request (where he keeps asking Anthony for his resume and other profile info) in each of his prior replies to Tony. When I got to the part (pg 128) of that thread where Ram finally asks Anthony, "Why you are increasing rate?" (and I just love that Anthony keeps in the original spelling and/or grammar mistakes) and Anthony replies, "My apologies Ram-I thought we were negotiating". I almost spit up my hot coffee and choked on my Entemann's crumb cake (I tend to try and multi-task like that) all over my white ruffle shirt (I'm a P/T lounge singer/underemployed IT worker...no really) as I was laughing out loud so hard.It really struck a chord with myself and I'm sure many other consultant job seekers that get tired of playing the ping pong ball rate negotiation game where the recruiters are always trying to low ball you, claiming this is the highest the client will pay when you know they are full of BS and are probably billing the client 100%+ above what "they" (NOT the client) want to pay you.
It was hysterical to read an email thread like that goofing on the recruiter, making him wonder if the candidate is serious or not. Great humorous book. Anthony is truly a master negotiator. I look forward to his next book.

Get That Job! Pissing People Off One Email at a Time Anthony C Alcamo 9780985491802 Books Reviews
The author has a great sense of humor and obvious insight into the wacky world of tech recruiting. These bozos would promise you the world in order to find you a job in Guam to collect a few shekles. If you're feeling used and abused by head hunters, check out this very funny way to get back at the creeps.
I recently stumbled on this book through a friend. If the front cover doesn't catch your attention, the content will. It takes a lot to make me laugh, and I found myself laughing out loud with this one. I also would catch myself thinking about it on my drive to work....it's just funny. It reminds me of the old telephone prank calls by "The Jerky Boys", where you just waited for the poor sucker to catch on, but enjoyed their nieve acceptance that this was real. Excellent job Mr. Alcamo. I highly recommend it. Cant wait for the sequel...
If you want a book to read and laugh this is it. It is amazing how you can turn the table on these dumb recruiters who just look through your resume and seek for a match of specific words such as Java or C++ or C#, without reading your resume and they immediately send you whole bunch of emails for jobs that you may or may not be qualified for. Some of these jobs are 3000 miles away!
Anthony certainly turns the table on them. He does this by first showing his interest and letting them think that he is 100% interested. He then slowly does his thing that you will only find out when you read the book.
My favorite so far is Ted who is supposed to be Anthony's boss. Anthony first aggravates this recruiter by first introducing himself by saying "What's up jerky. This is Anthony" and then he proceeds to frustrate him further to a point that he blocks Anthony's emails (keep in mind the job proposed by the recruiter is 3000 miles away!). Anthony then pretends he is Ted his own boss and sends an apology email from a different email address and asks for the recruiter to elaborate of what happened. The recruiter writes a long email explaining how Anthony's conduct was inappropriate and he is going to block his company. Anthony then let's him know that there is no Ted and further aggravates him.
Get That Job!_ is the perfect gift to keep a young job seeker motivated. Even the gainfully employed will laugh their way through this comprehensive volume on how to frustrate spoiled recruiters who take it for granted that we must us all suck up to them. Alcamo is onto something big, spotlighting with his scientific method headhunters' masochistic streaks as they persist in engaging in humiliating conversation. He discovered that recruiters actually respect you more if you exhaust them with silly questions about the opportunity they are presenting. At times he is raunchy and rude, but considering how often most
of us have had to flatter annoying recruiters, the abuse is well-deserved. I found the few recruiters who figured out his hoax sympathetic as well.
He has fun with headhunters from all over the world, and you will too, as you see just how human resources are churned and trashed through inefficiencies such as relocation and reskilling. This author knows what his time is worth and has turned actual degrading emails into this hilarious book while multi-taksing to get an offer that pays for the hours he needs to get his flying license. Every _faux pas_ committed, from asking a recruiter if his mom can help him during the phone interview to cussing the recruiter out when asked to move to the
other side of the world makes for a delightful read and an engaging conversation piece.
